Gronau Karate e.V
Karate Karate is a martial art of Chinese origin, which quickly found its way to Japan and has spread worldwide from there. The first German Karate Federation was founded in 1961. Since then, more and more interested people have begun to learn this ancient martial art of unarmed self-defense. Although karate teaches the body and develops physical abilities and strength, the supreme art is the perfection of character. Karate offers a variety of demands on the body and mind and is thus an ideal balance to the stress of everyday life.
Where?
Our dojo (training room) is located in a gym at the Laubstiege in Gronau. We offer lessons for beginners and advanced students of all ages.
How often?
Training one to several times a weeks helps the beginner to get acquainted to karate. Each training traditionally begins and ends with a brief meditation. A ritual greeting follows, in which students and masters bow to one another. The practical part contains punshing, pushing, kicking and blocking techniques as well as lever and throwing techniques. All attacks are stopped before striking to avoid injuries. Karate improves agility, speed, condition and strength to a great extent. Breathing consciously and developing the ability to concentrate creates the art of winning with empty hands.
In addition to the regular training sessions there is the opportunity to participate in weekend courses, tournaments, or training camps at home and abroad.
